Delmar J. Manchester

CLINTON: Delmar J. Manchester, age 88, of Clinton, died
Thursday, June 21, 2001, in Herrick Manor, Tecumseh. He was born
June 22, 1912, in Detroit to the late Everett and Fray (Hughes)
Manchester. On Dec. 11, 1937, he married Ernestine I. Conklin
and she preceded him in death last Friday, June 15. He was a
life member and past Master of the Clinton Masonic Lodge and was
also a member of the OES in Clinton. He worked at Clinton
Engines, Tecumseh Products, the Bomber Plant in Ypsilanti and
Budd Company in Clinton. He had attended Clinton Schools. He is
survived by his daughter, Sandra McGuire of Naperville, Ill.;
three grandchildren, David (Patty) McGuire, Robert (Ian
Wisinger) McGuire, Christine McGuire; one great-grandson, Layton
McGuire, and a brother, LeRoy Manchester of Richmond, Mich. In
addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by
two sisters and five brothers. Visitation will be held on
Friday, June 22, from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Clinton Chapel of
Couture-Handler Funeral Homes where there will be a Masonic
Service held at 7 p.m. Graveside funeral services and burial
will be held on Saturday, June 23, at 11 a.m. in Riverside
Cemetery, Clinton, with the Rev. Seal Janeway officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Herrick Memorial Hospital Heart
Fund.
